The Kenan Center, part of the Kenan-Flagler Business School, is located adjacent to the Business School and the Dean E. Smith Center on the south campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Nestled in a wooded enclave, the Center provides a quiet and stately environment for educational gatherings and special events. The building, completed in 1986, blends contemporary architecture with classical features surrounded by colorful seasonal plantings and expansive terraces.

The Kenan Center provides quick access to Main Campus, two major interstates, and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Center Facilities
The five stories of brick banded by Indiana limestone contain 60,000 square feet of light-filled interior spaces and landscaped exterior facilities.

  • On the first floor, a spacious Dining Room accommodates up to 220 guests in a variety of configurations.
  • On the second floor, a tiered conference room seats up to 130.

The Center provides a list of approved caterers with a wide range of menu selections and pricing.  The Center also has direct access to a visitor parking lot for up to 70 vehicles.

The Kenan Center was made possible by a gift from The William Rand Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust. Current occupants include The Trust and the William R. Kenan Jr. Funds, The Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, and Business School offices as well as the conference center spaces.
